This fantastic workshop, held by the wonderful Elli Cavazza, will support you to teach cooperative care and handling skills to take the stress out of vet visits, grooming, and future proofing for treatment plans, medication application, and more. Aimed at new puppy owners who want to prepare their puppy with essential life skills. Older dogs welcome. Format: Demo with the gorgeous Pip Bit of theory to support learning and deepening understadning of body lanugauge Practical with your own dog What you will learn: Importance of cooperative handling Recognising signs of stress Collar hold Muzzle holds Opening eyes, mouth, ears Gereralisation to equipment Cooperative restraints Second handler/person Extras: Ensure dog comfortable waiting in the car Tea and coffee provided What to Bring: Bring a mat towel they can practice Plenty of bite-size treats Notebook About Elli: Is an ABTC Animal Training Instructor and full member of PACT with a degree in Canine Science and Welfare from UCLan, and a Diploma in Education and Training. She has taught a wide mix of learners including college students, staff and volunteers, always with a focus on wellbeing and adapting to different learning styles. Her experience includes working for one of the UK’s largest animal rehoming and welfare charities, before becoming an Animal Management lecturer, where she taught and demonstrated training techniques across a wide range of species from donkeys to red pandas, and she now oversees a puppy scheme for Guide Dogs. She is passionate about evidence‑based training and creating supportive environments where both people and dogs can learn with confidence. She currently lives in Dorset and can often be found paddling in streams or the South West coast with her rescue chihuahua mix. Location: DT11 0BX
